At London Vet Specialists we are dedicated to advancing the field of veterinary medicine by providing specialised care for patients with neurological disorders. Our team is dedicated to collaborating with referring veterinarians to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care for our patients taking advantage of the state-of-the-art equipment available at our hospital.
We are the only neurology specialist team with onsite MRI and CT in central London. Working collaboratively with the other specialist teams within the hospital, the neurology service investigates and treat both routine and emergency neurology conditions, providing an individualised patient journey.
One of the key ways our neurology team supports you as the referring veterinary surgeon is by offering a telephone/email advice service and offering timely consultations to assist in diagnosing and managing even the most complex of neurological cases. We offer a range of diagnostic services including:
MRI: to assess for structural disease of the brain or spinal cord enabling an accurate diagnosis and a treatment plan to be formulated
- CT: allowing a rapid assessment of the bony structures for identifying for example spinal fractures and allowing for the preparation of 3D printed patient specific drill guides should they be required.
- Electrodiagnostics: allowing us to assess the peripheral nerve function and its communication with the muscles.
- CSF collection: allowing us to evaluate the environment the spinal cord or brain are in and allowing us to rule in our out certain disease processes.
Through open communication and teamwork, we ensure that you as the referring veterinary surgeon are informed about the progress of your patient each step of the way and you can rely on us to provide a detailed report and provide ongoing support or advice even after the patient is discharged.

Terms and Conditions
Post-operative pain relief will be prescribed for up to 14 days. Payment for any medications required beyond this period will need to be made.
For hospitalisation beyond the 72 hours included in the fixed price, standard hospitalisation fees will be applied.
Should the patient require the input of multiple services due to concurrent conditions (e.g. diabetes, heart disease etc), be considered high-risk for anaesthesia or need critical care, additional fees will be payable to reflect the additional specialist care they have required. Should any treatment be needed which sits outside the package price, its need and costings will be fully discussed with you, provided it is not given in a life threatening emergency.
