Juan graduated from the University of Las Palmas, Spain in 2017. He worked in primary care practice for one year before completing post-graduate Certificate in Veterinary Ophthalmology and rotating internship at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He then completed an ophthalmology specific internship at IVO, Barcelona, working at Glories Hospital thereafter.

Following this, Juan moved to Memvet, Palma de Mallorca, completing his European Colleage of Veterinary Ophthalmology (ECVO) residency training programme in December 2025. He is due to sit his ECVO Board-Certifying examinations in March 2027.

Juan is interested in all areas of ophthalmology, particularly intraocular surgery.
